The SASB Council executive are also looking for new members to join our progressive and motivated team of scientists. Our mission is to provide an inclusive community for advancing taxonomy and systematics in Australia.
The following roles open for consideration are:
- Vice-President
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Councillors
- Student representatives
Any member of the Society is able to nominate as an Officer of Council (see: sasb.org.au/constitution-and-bylaws), except for the role of President, which is limited to current Officers. There are also two vacant positions open which can be filled be councillors or non-councillors:WebmasterSocial media officerIf you have an interest in being involved in the governance of our society in one of the listed roles, or as a general SASB Councillor, please email the SASB secretary by COB on October 25th at sasbiologists@gmail.com. In a few sentences, briefly tell us your career stage, research interests, experience on similar professional societies, and why you are interested in being a part of the SASB Council.
Nominations can be made for any member of the Society (with their consent), and voting for executive roles (if required) will be conducted during the AGM in November. In the case of single nominations for executive roles, and nominations for Council, we will simply seek endorsement at the AGM.
